LOST VOICES, DYING MOTHERS AND CHILDREN

About 20 % of Afghan children die before their fifth birthday. 1,600 out of every 100,000 Afghan mothers die while giving birth or because of related complications, according to Unicef.
The plea is not merely to remember Afghanistan; the international community must act urgently to save the dying children and mothers.
These are hidden, muted and lost cries seldom to be heard across the globe.
Afghanistan's development must be assessd based on its ability to deal with this crisis. Maybe, it is time for us to learn more about Afghanistan than simply being bogged down by the news of ongoing bombings and military operations.
It is a humanitarian crisis in every sense - one that is largely neglected.

Hi, just a suggestion if you could mention your sources, so that one could refer to for further details and research. Thanks, Ahmad
